Challenges
Hard-to-Navigate Layout: The original single-page design was long, cluttered, and lacked structure.
No Mobile Support: The site wasn’t responsive, which created major issues on mobile devices.
Low Engagement: Users weren’t connecting with the content or moving toward next steps.
Low Awareness of ASIT: Most pet owners didn’t understand the treatment or its benefits.
My Approach
Discovery Phase
Stakeholder Interviews: Collaborated with the Stallergenes Greer team to align on business goals — build trust, educate users, and increase ASIT awareness.
User Interviews: Talked with pet owners to understand their mindset when researching pet allergies. Key needs: simple content, clear next steps, and confidence in seeking treatment.
Insights: Users were overwhelmed by medical terms and wanted quick, clear answers they could act on.
Design and Development
Sitemap & IA: Built a clean, multi-page structure with separate paths for dogs and cats, allergy basics, testing, ASIT info, and a “Find a Vet” tool.
Content Audit: Removed outdated or redundant info, focused on clarity and educational value.
Interactive Features: Added a quiz, glossary, and engaging blog to keep users on-site and learning.
UI Design: Created a friendly, clean visual style with strong CTAs and illustrations to break up text.
Responsive Design: Built for desktop, tablet, and mobile — optimized for performance and readability on all devices.
Testing and Iteration
Wireframes & Prototypes: Mapped out flows and tested early-stage designs for clarity and usability.
User Testing: Collected feedback from both internal stakeholders and pet owners to validate layout, content, and interactions.
UI Style Guide: Developed a scalable, mobile-first system to keep the site visually consistent and easy to maintain.
Results
Increased average time on site and return visits
Higher click-throughs to “Find a Vet” and ASIT-related content
Reduced bounce rate thanks to improved layout and content flow
Stronger engagement with interactive content like quizzes and blog articles
Future Plans
Veterinarian Portal: Create a backend experience to help vets manage referrals.
Multilingual Support: Expand site to reach more users across global markets.
Enhanced Tools: Add symptom checkers and treatment planners for users.
Conclusion
The redesigned PetsGetAllergies.com helped Stallergenes Greer better educate pet owners and guide them toward action. With a responsive layout, clearer content, and more engaging UX, the platform now supports both awareness and trust—turning curiosity into care.
